Choose your testing company below and follow the account steps. Keep the original download exactly as it arrives. There is no need to open, rename, or edit the file before checking it with Spoke.

Follow the steps in your account.

Start with the company you tested with. We link to each provider's own help page in case its menus change.

23andMe

Download from Settings > 23andMe Data
Check the 23andMe official guide
  1. Sign in to 23andMe.
  2. Click the account button with your initials at the top right.
  3. Choose Settings.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page to 23andMe Data, then choose View.
  5. Choose Download Raw DNA and follow the prompts to submit your request.
  6. When 23andMe emails to say the file is ready, download the ZIP file.

The download is usually a ZIP file whose name starts with genome. Keep the ZIP private and unedited.

AncestryDNA

Download from DNA Settings > Download or Delete
Check the Ancestry official guide
  1. Sign in to Ancestry and open DNA Settings.
  2. Select the DNA test you want to download.
  3. In Download or Delete, choose Download DNA data.
  4. Confirm that you understand the privacy notice and verify by password or email code.
  5. Use the Ancestry email link to download the DNA data file.

Usually a ZIP named dna-data-date.zip.

MyHeritage

Download from DNA > Manage DNA Kits
Check the MyHeritage official guide
  1. Sign in to MyHeritage.
  2. Open DNA, then Manage DNA kits.
  3. Use the three-dot menu beside the kit and choose Download.
  4. Accept the terms and privacy prompts, then wait for the email.
  5. Use the email link within 24 hours, enter your password, and download the file.

Download from a computer or Android device. MyHeritage does not support this download on iPhone or iPad.

Living DNA

Download from your name > Profiles
Check the Living DNA official guide
  1. Sign in at my.livingdna.com.
  2. Open the profile menu from your name and choose Profiles.
  3. Select the profile you want to download.
  4. Click Download beside the profile.
  5. Read the consent information and choose the autosomal raw data file.

Choose the autosomal raw data option for third-party use.

FamilyTreeDNA

Download from Results & Tools > Autosomal DNA > Download Raw Data
Check the FamilyTreeDNA official guide
  1. Sign in to your FamilyTreeDNA kit and make sure two-factor authentication is enabled.
  2. From the dashboard, find Autosomal DNA Results & Tools, choose See More, then Data Download.
  3. Alternatively, open Results & Tools, Autosomal DNA, then Download Raw Data.
  4. Choose the Family Finder Build 37 Concatenated Raw data file.
  5. Download the compressed file and keep it private.

Use the Build 37 Concatenated Raw data file when available. Files transferred into FamilyTreeDNA from another provider cannot be downloaded.

Keep the original fileDo not edit, rename internally, or paste the contents into another document.
Store it privatelyYour raw DNA file is sensitive personal data. Avoid email attachments.
Checked before analysisAfter secure upload, Spoke checks provider, format, and coverage before analysis can start.

Buy securely, then upload through the private portal when you are ready. The exact file must pass compatibility checks before analysis.
